MOYO cooked at the Street Food Festival at Wiltener Platz

On June 17, 2022 from 4 p.m. the time had come: Despite high summer temperatures of around 30 degrees, the Street Food Festival as part of the Wilten Cultural Summer took place. According to the motto “Wilten cooks”, local restaurants spoiled the guests with traditional dishes.

MOYO was also there. East African specialties were offered together with Martha Kirungo: Sambusas (spicy dumplings filled with meat) were available for meat lovers, but vegetarians also got their money’s worth: Onja Bagias were served – tasty balls filled with chickpeas. The combination menu with 3 Sambusas and 2 veggie balls turned out to be a hit.

Despite sweaty temperatures, people cooked, fried and sold what they could. And the influx of guests seemed to never end. The Africa stand was sold out by 7 p.m., even though the street food festival was scheduled to last until 10 p.m. At least the cooks and helpers could then regenerate with a cool drink in the shade before dismantling began.

A large number of donations were collected for the association MOYO . Many thanks to all helpers, supporters and of course to Martha Kirungo.
